Air Haifa announced today (Monday, December 1, 2025) the launch of a new flight route from Haifa to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, which will begin operating in January 2026. The route will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and to mark its launch, tickets will be offered at a special price starting at $79 one-way, for three days only or while supplies last.
The northern gateway to Europe opens: convenient, close and affordable
The flights, which are expected to last approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes, are intended to meet the growing demand for ski vacations in Borovets and Bansko during the winter season, along with short city breaks in Sofia. The opening of the route is made possible by the addition of new ATR 72-600 aircraft to the company's fleet, which expands its operational capabilities.
Dana Rubin, VP of Customer Experience at Air Haifa, emphasized the significance for residents of the north: "The new line was born from the clear demand to fly from Haifa: smart, comfortable and affordable. Bulgaria is a hot destination for ski vacations at affordable prices and a short flight. When you combine this with the convenience of departing from Haifa, without traffic jams, without traveling to Ben Gurion Airport and without unnecessary queues, the vacation starts on the right foot."
Seasonal, flexible and traveler-friendly
The line to Sofia will be operated seasonally until the end of March 2026, using ATR 72-600 aircraft.
All Air Haifa flight tickets are sold in the following format: Flex, which includes:
