Bat Galim - Israel's National Surfing Stadium:
The winter storm that blew in Haifa yesterday, brought with it depth waves that reached a height of 8.5 meters, according to the measurements of the instruments at the national measuring station in Hadera (graph below).
The surfing conditions at Bat Galim beach in Haifa were particularly challenging, both due to the stormy sea and the fact that the wind direction was from azimuth 300 - northwest. This is a direction that makes it difficult for windsurfers to cross the deep waves.
Some particularly brave windsurfers entered the stormy waters and performed at a level reserved for professionals only.
