Wednesday 6/12 20:30 – Itay Engel
Itai Engel, winner of the Sokolov prize for journalism.
He will come to us with his requested lecture on the organization 'Islamic State' (Daesh), the sources of the organization's power and the day after.
These days we are witnessing the historical change in the Middle East. ISIS, a more organized and brutal force than ever before, which threatens to destroy the world we know, is currently fighting for its future and the future of the Islamic Caliphate.
The 'Islamic State' organization (Daesh) carries out a massacre in Syria and Iraq, executes anyone who does not align with the view of extreme Islam it advocates. It buries people while alive, kidnaps women and sells them in the markets and threatens
To establish an Islamic caliphate on all the territories of the Middle East and far beyond it.
Beyond that, the deadly attacks in Barcelona, Paris, Belgium, the USA, Africa, London and Russia, are evidence of the organization's ability to send its arms to every point on the planet and hint at the new incarnation of ISIS.
Itai Engel is the only Israeli journalist who reported from the front against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. He visited Iraq 6 times and Syria 3 times, from the days of the fall of Saddam Hussein until the great battle for Mosul, the capital of ISIS. In his lecture, he provides a rare view from the field about a source The force that raised ISIS and the latest developments that are changing the Middle East on our borders.
What is expected now with the weakening of ISIS?
Could the forces that will rise now be even more dangerous?
Itai Engel is a journalist, winner of the Sokolov Prize, who participates in the investigative team of the program "Ovda" and lectures at the Open University on conflicts in the world. As part of his work, he covered the war in eastern Congo, the massacre in Rwanda, the civil war in Syria, the wars in the Balkans, and much more.

The Beatles vs. America with the band NISHT GEBAKT
Moderator: Yoram Mark-Reich
Sixties. In England, bands of bored young people are emerging, who are enthusiastic about American rock and roll hits and cover them. Yes, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones also started this way. But later the English bands write great songs of their own, and conquer America.
In the show, many songs by the Beatles will be performed, and to them will be added songs by other English bands, in front of hits by American bands from that time.
The performance is accompanied by a lot of humor and endearing stories about the songs and artists of that time. Some of the performances are the same as the original, and some are in slightly different arrangements but with a lot of respect for the original arrangement.
The band members are: Pini Weinberg (vocals and guitar), Yaron Magen (lead guitar), Steve Nanki (bass guitar), Igor Strukin (drums).
Before the show, clips of other Sixties bands and artists will be screened.
On stage and on the screen will be performed hits of:

Hebrew country folk trio
National concert tour for the new album "What's Important"!
In the last two years, it was hard not to notice this magical trio. From the moment their debut album was released, the band burst into consciousness at a dizzying pace and began to fill halls to capacity all over the country and conquer goals and peaks - a gold album, the most played song in Galgalat for 2015, millions of views on the Internet and about 200 performances for the debut tour - an unprecedented figure for a young and independent band. There is no doubt that this special composition positions itself as one of the most successful, surprising and interesting compositions of the last period.
These days the band is finishing work on the new album that will be released in early June, which they produced and recorded independently in their home studio. It has already released the singles "What's Important" and "Want to Cry" which were embraced by the audience and played a lot on all radio stations.
With the simplicity of the country songs, vocal harmonies and realistic lyrics wrapped in humor and grace - it's impossible not to fall in love.

Thursday, 28.12.17 Chava Sarah Shlomi plays
A new show by Chava Elberstein and Shlomi Shaban 21:00 pm Auditorium
The dialogue between Chava and Shlomi began about three years ago around the recording of the duet and the theme song from his album "Awakening Exercise". Following the connection that was formed, they began musical meetings without a stated purpose. Over a period of time, without a time frame or commitment, they embarked on a joint musical journey in the depths of Chava's repertoire as they dive into the abundance, extract treasures from it, test, process and above all "talk music".
Shlomi's desire to return for a moment to the position of accompanying classical pianist is what led to this adventure "I missed accompanying a singer, a feeling I know well from the classical world and Eve in many respects is the ultimate performer in my opinion with first class materials. I also wanted to experience this journey through her." Chava adds, "From my side, the meeting with Shlomi is also a renewed meeting with myself. With that part of me that is less folky and more on stage."
Over time, the desire to share this with the outside world was born and later a performance program was formed that could be said to be a duet between a voice (Hava) and a piano (Shlomi) that ranges between a recital and a show with a theatrical/cabaret character. Most of it is built on classics alongside lesser materials
familiar ones from Chava's repertoire and even some that she always dreamed of performing and did not record, or songs that she recorded and never performed on stage. Shlomi adds "For me it is very special to see Chava without the guitar, her hands are free and all her concentration goes to her "thing", singing."
