The story of the marina in Bat Galim - Haifa
(the canceled marina)
Today it is already nostalgia, but in 2005, the fight against the marina at Rosh Carmel was the hot fight of the green organizations in Haifa.
The green organizations argued that the marina should be built east of Bat Galim, in the already violated area and not at the top of Carmel - a pristine sea area that is a center of attraction for surfers and travelers from all over the country and is a habitat for a wide variety of marine animals.
20 million NIS were invested in the planning of the marina.
54 million NIS were invested in the Allenby interchange that was supposed to enter the marina and was built without a permit, under the scepter of Amram Mitzna.
Yona Yahav - shut himself in his room
Yona Yahav locked himself in his room, did not give interviews to the media and did not find a ladder to get down from the tree, until the National Council took it down and canceled the project.
