This page focuses on the happenings around the Haifa Municipality's plan to thicken the construction of the Ramat Shaul neighborhood in the French Carmel - PO Box 2222
general:
The Haifa municipality has been pushing a plan for additional construction in Ramat Shaul for several years. According to the strength of the opposition to the plan, most residents of Ramat Shaul oppose the move on the grounds that the neighborhood is too crowded, there are no adequate parking arrangements within the plan, the hiding of the view, lack of public participation in the planning itself and other claims. At the end of a huge, aggressive and well-publicized campaign led by the residents of Ramat Shaul and the French Carmel, the plan to thicken construction in the area of Emil Zola Street was shelved during 2010, by the Haifa Municipality. And now, in April 2012, like the phoenix, the program is back. A live system here continues to closely monitor the happenings and take care to sort out all the details for you.

In my opinion, this plan is excellent, provided they resolve the issue of parking spaces.
I very regretfully left the neighborhood because they did not promote the program. Instead of destroying more green areas it is better to build higher in places
Given in a good neighborhood that is fun to live in. Since apartment prices will be accordingly this will bring a strong and young population.
Unfortunately, most of the residents are in favor of the plan, and there are those who are not all heard.
Typical of the Haifa Municipality and Yona Yahav under the guise of "concern" for the residents they look after the interests of the other permanent parties.
Also the vague wording about how the decision will be made ".. according to the results of the process of sharing" clearly hints at how it will end. Who will determine the results? What is the connection between the sharing process and the results and the decisions they will take? Residents of Ramat Shaul - your neighborhood is going to change!

Dear residents of Ramat Shaul,
Your opinion on the issue of residential renewal in the Emil Zola complex is important to us.
The Municipality of Haifa, in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, prepared a plan for the expansion of apartments and the addition of floors to buildings in the "Emil Zola" concentration complex - HF/2222. The complex was declared by the Israeli government as an urban renewal complex in a condensation route on 14.12.2003.
The main goal of the program is to enable a process of urban renewal in the Ramat Shaul neighborhood, thereby raising the quality of life in the neighborhood by improving living conditions, strengthening against earthquakes, adding elevators and elevators, renovating the buildings, developing the courtyards, adding parking spaces and cultivating the open spaces. . All of this will be financed by the sale of additional apartments, which will be built in the project (on the roofs of the existing buildings).
Ramat Shaul is an old neighborhood with unique environmental characteristics and a decent supply of public services. These opening conditions, combined with the benefits of the project, will help the success of the neighborhood's renewal process.
As you remember, the plan was deposited on May 18.5.2008, XNUMX. During the deposit period, we held an informational conference for the residents, where the plan was presented and answers to the public's questions were given. Later, in light of receiving objections to the plan, we initiated a process of public participation with representatives of residents in and outside the complex, under the guidance of a professional mediator. During the process, we got the impression that many of the apartment owners in the complex had not seen the plan documents, and/or did not understand their meaning.
Therefore, we decided to present the program itself, as well as a presentation on the subject, on the municipality's website, so that you can browse the material and delve into the documents comfortably from your home computer.
We would like to receive your feedback on the presented material by filling out the questionnaire.
The link to the questionnaire will be open for filling out for a month and a half from 3/4/2012 to 15/5/2012 and we would appreciate it if you would take the time to fill it out.
At the end of the process, the municipality will determine its position regarding the continued promotion of the program, according to the results of the sharing process.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Yona Yahav
Mayor of Haifa
