It is clear as the sun at noon today that as long as there is no dedicated site, the ammonia tank will remain intact.

Trying to be optimistic.
Yahav welcomes the decision of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection to remove the ammonia tank from the Haifa Bay, but informs that as long as the decision does not include detailed timetables, the work is not complete and the Haifa Municipality will continue the criminal legal proceedings it conducts against the company in which it demands the immediate closure of the tank
Mayor Yona Yahav: "After a long period of time, the issue of the public and legal struggle that we are conducting to remove the ammonia tank from Haifa Bay is bearing fruit - in the formation of an operative front by the Minister of Environmental Protection and the Minister of Natural Resources to remove the tank from Haifa Bay.
However, the mayor of Haifa stressed: "Without binding schedules, the work is not perfect and the job is not finished. The Haifa municipality expects to receive detailed schedules for the removal of the container from the Minister of Environmental Protection and the Minister of Transport and Communications.
As long as these are not accepted, the municipality of Haifa will continue the criminal legal proceedings it initiated against the Haifa company as mitigating circumstances, in which it is suing the court to order the immediate closure of the tank and its relocation away from the city limits.
On Wednesday 7/3 at 11:30 a hearing will be held at the Local Affairs Court (16 Pel-Yam Street) on the indictment filed by the Haifa Municipality against Haifa Chemicals regarding the ammonia tank.
