In the shadow of the fighting with Iran and with the end of Operation "With a Dog" in the Hapoel Haifa football team, preparations for the upcoming 2025/2026 season continue, with the Red Club announcing this evening (Tuesday, 24/6/2025) to "Haifa News Corporation" that goalkeeper Omar Hanin has signed with Hapoel Haifa for one season with an option for another season.
The new goalkeeper, 27-year-old Omer Hanin, stands 1.92 meters tall and returns to Israel after five consecutive years playing in German football. Hanin was on the Mainz team roster in the Bundesliga, made 5 appearances in the last two years for Waldhof Mannheim in the third division in Germany, and before that, made 12 appearances for PSV Frankfurt in the fourth division in Germany.

Henin is a very talented goalkeeper. From a young age, he was marked as a promising goalkeeper, and what is good enough for the German "Mainz" cannot be bad enough for Hapoel Haifa.
We wouldn't be surprised if he quickly becomes the first goalkeeper for the red team. Henin grew up in the youth department of Hapoel Rishon LeZion and was on the youth and junior national teams. Henin signed with Hapoel Haifa through his agent Adam Kidan. We would also like to add that the club's CEO Itay Raek sent Portuguese player Robinho and his agent a letter in which he made it clear to him that he must report to the team's training sessions next week. Raek said: "With the ceasefire coming into effect, there is no reason why the player who signed his contract will not join the team."
If the player refuses to come, the team is considering taking legal action against him. Also, Reds coach Gal Erel spoke with striker Javon East and his Israeli and Jamaican agents, and it was agreed that the player will join training next week.
