(Hai Fa) – At 4:20! In the morning, black smoke rose on the sea road. Firefighters, police and medical personnel arrived at the scene and began firefighting and rescue operations. Vehicles were on fire in the parking lot of a new residential building and the heavy smoke rose and enveloped the residential apartments. Suspicion of arson of the vehicles will be investigated.
Firefighting and rescuing
Firefighters rescued residents from a building fire in Haifa. In the early morning hours, firefighters from the Haifa station under the command of Rabbi Reshef Barak Silem were dispatched to a report of a burning residential building on Haifa's Sea Road.
The first team to arrive identified two burning vehicles in the parking lot, with smoke from the fire rising directly into the stairwell and from there into the building's apartments, where the residents received life-saving instructions from the 102 hotline explaining how to protect themselves from the dangerous smoke.
The crews, in high winds, under heavy heat and zero visibility, began firefighting efforts alongside a search and rescue, during which two residents who felt unwell were rescued using a rescue mask from the stairwell.
The two rescued people and another injured person were evacuated for treatment, with the condition of the three described as mild, and the other residents are safe.
During the complementary operations and towards the end of the event, alarms began to sound, and the forces, together with the residents, entered the protected spaces.
