(haipo) – As part of the fight against wildlife trafficking, an abandoned monkey was rescued on Saturday night, 21/6/25, from an open area near Basmat Tivon. Since March 2025, 46 abandoned monkeys have been found.

Spokespersons for the police and the Nature and Parks Authority told the newspaper: In a proactive operation, on Saturday night, 21/6/25, Coastal District police rescued an abandoned monkey, apparently in distress, from an open area near the Tivon bus stop and handed it over to the Nature and Parks Authority.
The police rescued the monkey from the scene and simultaneously called the Israel Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, who took it for tests and medical treatment at the Israeli monkey sanctuary.

The police and the Nature and Parks Authority emphasize that the incident demonstrates the severity of the wildlife trade. The monkey was left abandoned in an open area, risking its life. This is the 46th monkey found since the beginning of March.
The Israel Police and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority emphasize that keeping protected species without a permit is a violation of the law. If you know of a person keeping a wild animal illegally or in inappropriate conditions, you are asked to contact the Israel Nature and Parks Authority hotline at *3639 or the Israel Police hotline 100.
Save, animal cruelty!
Humans treat animals cruelly and without compassion.
The Ministry of Agriculture is doing too little and the fines are too small. The cruel offenders deserve significant punishments, so that their activities are immediately curtailed!
Those Bedouin Arab scum, what the hell do they do with the animals?
