(haipo) – A missile fell in a civilian area. We do not publish locations or publish photos that reveal locations and ask all residents not to publish locations and photos. We will publish a summary later.
Review from the crash scene – MDA:
At the scene in the north of the country: MDA teams evacuated 11 victims, including: a 72-year-old woman in moderate condition with signs of smoke inhalation, 6 lightly injured and 4 panic victims to Bnei Zion, Carmel, and Rambam hospitals.
At the scene in the south of the country: MDA teams evacuated 2 injured people in mild condition and 5 panic victims.
Update later, if necessary.
MDA paramedic Shira Gur said:
"As soon as we received the alert from the Home Front Command about the shooting, we protected ourselves with personal equipment and entered the protected area. A few minutes after the alarms went off, the hotline rushed us to the scene in the city, where a fire was reported in a building and vehicles were on fire following the fall. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, while at the same time some of the residents left on their own and some were rescued by firefighters. We provided medical treatment to the lightly injured and panic-stricken people who came out of the destroyed buildings and were evacuated to the hospital. A few minutes later, a 72-year-old woman who suffered from smoke inhalation was pulled from the building and, after medical treatment, was evacuated to the hospital in an MDA intensive care unit. Currently, scans are being conducted in the apartments to ensure that there are no casualties, and we are prepared on site with large forces to provide medical treatment if necessary."
rescue union:
So far, we have treated about 15 people with minor injuries. Some of them are babies who inhaled smoke.
Also: United Hatzalah resilience teams are assisting anxiety victims at the scene.
Electric Company announcement:
Following the attack in the Haifa area: Damage was caused to the local electrical grid – Electric Company teams are working on the ground to neutralize safety hazards, including the risk of electrocution from torn electrical wires.
At the same time, activities are underway to repair the infrastructure and restore the electricity supply.
The electric company reiterates:
⚠ Do not approach broken electrical wires – this is a life-threatening situation!
Any hazard must be reported immediately to hotline 103 or to the security forces in the field.
The Electric Company continues to operate in cooperation with the Home Front Command and the rescue forces, in order to ensure public safety and a regular electricity supply.
There is no real justification for not publishing locations over time.
There is justification for preventing the arrival of curious onlookers as long as rescue forces are required to arrive. Not for long.
Ostensibly, there is another justification, to prevent targeting. From my experience as an artillery targeting officer, this is true in the case of firing a single missile, when there is concern that it is targeting a strategic target. Targeting based on a barrage of missiles on a population is not possible.
I suggest reconsidering the necessity of this directive.
I agree. I would be happy to know which neighborhood it hit in order to offer housing to those who lost their homes. You can't really hide a hit to the heart of an urban population from the enemy.
