IDF spokesman's announcement
IDF Spokesperson: The IDF launched a preemptive strike to damage the Iranian nuclear program
The IDF spokesman announces that a short time ago, the IDF, under the guidance of the political echelon, launched a precise and integrated preemptive strike based on high-quality intelligence, with the aim of damaging the Iranian nuclear program and in response to the Iranian regime's ongoing aggression against Israel. Dozens of Air Force aircraft recently completed the opening strike, which included attacking dozens of military targets, including nuclear targets in various areas of Iran.
The public must obey the Home Front Command's instructions, which will be updated as needed, and act responsibly and patiently. The IDF and the relevant bodies are prepared for many scenarios, in defense and attack, as needed.
For years, Iran has been directly and indirectly promoting terrorism against the State of Israel, financing and directing terrorist acts through its proxies throughout the Middle East, while advancing towards nuclear weapons.
The Iranian regime is the primary perpetrator of all terrorist acts committed against the State of Israel since the beginning of the Iron Sword War, including arming and financing the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for the events of October 7. During the Iron Sword War, Iran even attacked Israel directly twice, firing hundreds of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles into the country.
The Iranian regime has a stated goal of destroying the State of Israel. Senior Iranian regime officials declare this, and are working to realize it with their envoys in the Middle East. Iran is today closer than ever to obtaining nuclear weapons. Weapons of mass destruction in the hands of the Iranian regime are an existential threat to the State of Israel and a significant threat to the entire world. The State of Israel will not allow a regime whose goal is the destruction of the State of Israel to possess weapons of mass destruction. The IDF is engaged in a lengthy process of assessments and preparations for the campaign at the front and in the rear. Civilian resilience will be an important component of the campaign.
The IDF is prepared to continue to act as necessary. The State of Israel has a duty to act to protect its citizens and will continue to do so wherever required, as it has done in the past.
The IDF is conducting an ongoing situation assessment and will update on any developments.

Flight suspension – Announcement from the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety:
The airspace of the State of Israel has been closed to takeoffs and landings until further notice. The purpose of the closure is to prevent and reduce risk to passengers and aircraft. Passengers who were scheduled to take off from Ben Gurion Airport today are asked to stay home and not come to the airport. Passengers will receive a notification in the media at least 6 hours before the airspace reopens and will be updated on the new date of their flights on the websites of the airlines and the Airports Authority.
Passengers who are abroad and whose flights have been canceled, or did not depart, or landed at other airports, are asked to follow media announcements and, starting with the reopening of airspace, to check the airline websites for updates on their new flight dates.
I didn't understand, so what's the point of setting off an alarm in the middle of the night?
Cool
I didn't hear an alarm in Kiryat Ata. There was just a flash in the Home Front Command app.
