The airline of the north is expanding its international operations and is expected to operate regular flights from Haifa to the popular Greek island starting July 3. In addition, the company announces the expansion of its pilot base
Air Haifa, the airline of the north, announces today (Wednesday, 04.06.25) the launch of a new flight route to the popular Greek island of Rhodes, as part of the expansion of its international operations. At the same time, the company announces the expansion of its pilot staff in preparation for a further expansion of the scope of operations.
Starting July 3, Air Haifa will operate flights from Haifa International Airport to Rhodes, Greece. The new route will operate twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays, with a starting price of $149 one way. The flights to the Greek island will join the company's regular operations from Haifa to Athens, Larnaca and Eilat, which are operated by a fleet of modern ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The company continues the process of absorbing air crews, with Air Haifa's third pilot course successfully completing last week. The company's Israeli crews are leading the flight operations, and in parallel, the company is currently conducting absorption and certification processes for a group of experienced captains from France, Finland, Greece and the Czech Republic - all of whom have thousands of flight hours and command experience on ATR aircraft. The European captains are integrated into the operation of flights in order to support the expansion of operations in the Mediterranean basin, and subject to the requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel, they are undergoing full certification under the supervision of the authority's inspectors.
As part of the company's expansion plan, the fourth aircraft is expected to be delivered in early September, followed by the fifth aircraft in December. In addition, the apron renovation project at Haifa International Airport is expected to be completed by the end of June, so that the company's aircraft and passengers are expected to use improved infrastructure. Passengers at Haifa Airport will soon be able to enjoy a duty-free shopping experience, after the Airports Authority announced the franchisee who will operate the store as part of the tender that was published in a few weeks.
"The launch of flights to Rhodes is a continuation of the expansion of our operations – in destinations, aircraft fleet and air crews," says Lior Yavor, co-founder and deputy CEO of Air Haifa. "We are working to strengthen Haifa Airport's status as a significant international gateway, with advanced infrastructure and accessible service for residents of the north."
All of the company's flights include the option to change or cancel up to 24 hours before departure, in exchange for credit for a future purchase. Flight tickets include a free carry-on bag, and you can add a suitcase and a seat in advance for an additional fee as needed.
Access to Haifa Airport is convenient and fast via Egged Line 100, which connects the central station in the Bay to the terminal every half hour.
