Hundreds of seedlings weighing a total of about 250 kg were found in the apartment, suspected to be cannabis grown under advanced laboratory conditions.
A 51-year-old man from Beit Shean was arrested on the spot, suspected of operating the laboratory. He was brought to the police station for questioning, and was subsequently imprisoned. The police stated that, depending on developments in the case, a request to extend his detention will be submitted to the court later.
The equipment and materials found at the scene were sent for examination at the forensic laboratories for the purpose of extracting evidence.
