A viper entered the bedroom – the dog saved the homeowner from the bite

(haipo) – On Saturday, 24/5/25 at 2:00 AM during the night, snake catcher Dagan Erez received a dramatic call: A large viper snake entered a bedroom in a detached house in the settlement of Sde Yaakov.

The landlady, who felt movement in the room, maintained a rare composure: “I made eye contact with him, I wasn’t shocked,” she said in a conversation with the catcher.

When Dagan arrived at the scene, he found a medium-sized female viper snake lying right next to the bed. The snake was safely captured and removed from the scene.

A quick inspection of the area reveals that the family members usually leave the front door open at night to allow the dogs to enter and exit – a fact that probably allowed the snake to get inside.

But this time the dogs actually saved a life. The viper was already in the room, and the homeowner apparently stepped on it without knowing. The snake was focused on the dog that was approaching it, and therefore did not attack the woman. A rare and dangerous situation that ended in a real miracle.

Dagan Erez, certified snake catcher (tel: 054-8808300), warns the public: It is very important not to leave openings open at night, especially in detached houses and in natural areas. A viper snake is very venomous, and a bite can be life-threatening. In this case, only alertness, composure, and a little luck saved the situation.

    • A significant lack of core studies = an advantage for obtaining employment as a journalist.

  1. It is very advisable to proofread before publishing a news item. "The writer should say "I was not bitten" instead of "I was not bitten."
