(Hai Pa) – During a proactive operation by Haifa police, a raid was conducted on an apartment in the center of Carmel in the city, which was suspected of being used as a drug warehouse. During the search, approximately 17 kilograms of marijuana, approximately 250 grams of hashish, vehicles, and approximately 22,000 NIS in cash were seized – suspected to be proceeds from criminal activity.
Three suspects, residents of Haifa, Pardes Hanna and Harish – aged 36, 34 and 21 – were arrested and imprisoned.
The raid was carried out following intelligence information received at the Haifa Police Station's intelligence center, as part of the Israel Police's fight against the drug scourge - with an emphasis on trafficking and distribution offenses. The station's detectives set up an ambush near the apartment - and after receiving authorization to operate, raided the place.
During the search of the apartment and its surroundings, the following were seized:
Bags containing marijuana with a total weight of approximately 17 kg
Hashish weighing approximately 250 grams
- A BYD vehicle belonging to one of the suspects
- A Hyundai vehicle that was allegedly purchased while impersonating another person – and about 500 grams of marijuana were found inside.
- Approximately 22,000 NIS in cash – suspected to be proceeds from criminal activity
The suspects were transferred for questioning at the Haifa station, and the police intend to request an extension of their detention in court, depending on the findings of the investigation.
