Spying for Iran: Two Nesher residents suspected of serious security offenses

(haipo) – The police and the Shin Bet arrested two Israelis who carried out intelligence-gathering missions for the Iranians in the community where the Minister of Defense lives.

In a joint operation by the General Security Service and the IDF in Lahav 433, Roy Mizrahi and Almog Atias, residents of Nesher, were arrested at the end of April on suspicion of committing security offenses. The two were suspected of collecting intelligence in the settlement of Kfar Achim, where Defense Minister Yisrael Katz lives.

The investigation revealed that during 2025, Roy was in contact with Iranian terrorist elements and carried out a large number of different security missions for them, some of them together with his friend Almog, while the two understood that they were acting under Iranian direction and that their actions were intended to harm the security of the state due to greed.

Among the security tasks that Roy performed at the request and under the direction of his Iranian operators: purchasing a new cell phone and installing a dedicated application on it for the benefit of conversation with his operator. Later, he was asked by his operators to move a bag buried in the ground from one point to another, which contained, as he understood, an explosive device. Roy carried out the transfer of the bag in accordance with the instructions of his operators.

In the coming days, the Central District Attorney's Office is expected to file serious charges against the two.
