(live here) – The Ansar Allah (Houthi) group in Yemen announced last night (Monday, 19/5/25) the beginning of the implementation of a naval blockade on the port of Haifa, as part of their actions supporting the Palestinian people and in response to the continued fighting and blockade of the Gaza Strip. This was announced by the organization's military spokesman, Yahya Sarie, in a video statement broadcast on the Al-Masira channel, which is affiliated with the organization.
According to Sarie, "It was decided to begin imposing a naval blockade on the port of Haifa, in response to the escalation of the Zionist enemy, the continuation of the barbaric, genocidal aggression, and the siege and famine imposed on Gaza." Sarie clarified that "from the moment the declaration was published, the port of Haifa entered the target bank of the Houthi forces."
He added that all companies with ships anchored in or making their way to Haifa Port should "pay close attention to what was said in the statement and what may be said later," and mentioned the success of the blockade of the Eilat Port (or "Umm Rasrash" in his language), as a result of which it ceased operations.
In another message of support for the Palestinian people, the spokesman noted: "We will not hesitate, with the help of Allah, to take further steps to support the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance movement." He emphasized that "all our steps and decisions regarding the Israeli enemy will cease only with the end of the aggression and the lifting of the siege on Gaza."
Yemen's connection to Haifa is not so well understood...
The Yemenis are closer to the Swatch Canal.
And to Eilat than to Haifa…
The statement sounds like Yair Golan.. are you sure it's the Houthis?
Get out, get out. The port has been under siege all week. Instead of the state, I am sending an autonomous ship near Yemen with a destination in the direction of Haifa and the ship will be full of material like it was in the port of Beirut in 2020.
You only quote Israel haters.
