Sally Abed ended her career in the municipal coalition in Haifa

(Hai Fa) – Haifa Mayor, Mr. Yona Yahav, sent a letter today (Sunday, 18/5/25) to Ms. Sally Abed, informing her of the termination of her membership in the municipal coalition. What began with loud cheers for the inclusion of the "Most of the City" movement in the coalition, ended with a severance of relations.

Letter from Yona Yahav – Sally Abed – End of your term:

Victory for Zionism: BDS supporter Sally Abed was expelled from the coalition in Haifa.

Shai Glick, CEO of Haifa, in a photo, told Haifa: Haifa is a Zionist city. Sally is invited to move to Gaza and Ramallah.

After a year and a half of extremist activity by Haifa City Council member Sally Abed, including fundraising events for Gaza, memorial events for terrorists, extremist statements, and her definition as Palestinian, Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav announced her expulsion from the coalition.

I thank my friend Mayor Yona Yahav, who proves once again that Haifa is the northern capital of the State of Israel and is a 100 percent Zionist city. And anyone who doesn't like it is welcome to move to Gaza or anywhere else.
We will continue to strengthen Zionism in the city!

As Yona Yahav wrote in his letter, Sally Abed did not care at all about the residents of the city of Haifa, but rather about the residents of Gaza and "Palestine"...

Shay Glick, CEO of 'Betzalmo' (private album)

Sally Abed delivered a message to Haifa: An attack on democracy – an attack on the entire Haifa public

The "Most of the City" faction strongly condemns Mayor Yona Yahav's decision to remove our representative from the municipal coalition. This is a political move designed to silence freedom of expression - and what it really does is harm the Haifa public, Jews and Arabs alike.

"Most of the City" is a broad movement that unites thousands of residents from all neighborhoods of the city – Jews and Arabs, young and old, community activists and professionals from all ends of the political spectrum. The principle of co-existence is not a slogan for us – it is the backbone of our public action and the vision of Haifa.

Instead of dealing with improving transportation, housing, services for residents, and life itself, the mayor chooses to deal with political exclusion and the dismantling of the Jewish-Arab partnership that is so important to this city.

We will not be deterred. We will continue to work with all our might for Haifa – in community projects in neighborhoods, in organizing residents, in promoting walkability in the city, and in active membership in committees such as the Environmental Quality, Welfare, and Road Safety Committees.

The "Most of the City" movement is here to stay – to ensure true, democratic representation of the majority of the Haifa public, who believe in an equal, vibrant city that respects all its residents.

    • In the meantime, and especially after 7/10/2023, it is not recommended to establish joint lists of "Arabs and Jews."
The war is not over yet and this is not the time for these kinds of "unions."
The first mayor of Haifa, and probably the best one, was Hassan Shukri, who believed that the Middle East could and should develop with the help of the Jews.
And so it was at first, but most Israeli Arabs still sit on the fence, enjoying being citizens with equal rights, but on the other side elect as representatives to municipalities and the Knesset people whose souls go out to "their Palestine"...

  1. It's a shame that an active coalition member was fired for her legitimate opinions.
Yona Yahav - I chose you because of your liberal views, but they seem to be dissolving.

  2. If the lady had been engaged, as she said, in "improving transportation, housing and services for residents" in Haifa instead of collecting donations for Gazans and presenting Haifa as a Palestinian city, the mayor would not have ousted her from the municipal coalition.

  3. There are non-extremist Christian and Muslim candidates, and the public only elects the most extremist ones, and that's when they talk about coexistence in the city but elect candidates who act against coexistence, and also feel that their role is not to represent all of Haifa's residents, but only one 'sector'.
    Rethink your route.

  4. Sometimes I can't believe that smart young people think that rape, murder, young people, entire families were wiped out, kibbutzim, envelope, loved the residents of Gaza, and they betrayed them in a big way. It's just a shame that the damage to the settlements in the envelope was so great. It's a shame that it was a mistake.
Huge 7.102023 We will not forget and we will not forgive how a man kills babies and a mother together how young people cut off their heads We are not in the Middle Ages The State of Israel 🇮🇱 and the world is in a different place 🎗️🌏🌍🌍🌍🌍 Sad for everyone what happened The Jewish people live and exist forever
