(haipo) – Data from the report on the project to reduce conflict with the wild boar population in the city, published by the municipality (May 2025), indicates that during the month of April 2025, 201 pig sightings were recorded by the municipal inspectorate, a decrease compared to previous months, but at the same time there was a significant increase in the number of calls from residents to the 106 hotline, which reached 925 calls, of which 567 were direct reports of the presence of pigs.
It is important to remember that the return of the pigs and their offspring from the wadis occurs every year in the spring, after the calving season.

The Haifa system continues to receive many inquiries from residents, including documentation and photos of wild boars roaming between houses and on neighborhood streets. One of the main actions being taken is bringing forward the emptying of bins to the afternoon and evening hours, an action that was recently carried out in many neighborhoods in the city, including Nosh, Carmel, Hadar (especially Hadar Elyon), Ramot, and parts of the west of the city.
