The northern airline, Air Haifa, announced today (Thursday, 15.05.25) the signing of an agreement to purchase another ATR 72-600 aircraft – the fifth in the company's fleet. The new aircraft is expected to join operations at the end of 2025, after the fourth aircraft is scheduled to be received this summer.
The fleet expansion will allow Air Haifa to increase flight frequency, add new destinations and strengthen operations at Haifa International Airport. The new aircraft will contribute to improving the company's operational capabilities and meet the growing demand for flights from the north, especially at a time when foreign airline operations to Israel are limited.

Mickey Strasburger, one of the company's founders, said"Ordering the fifth aircraft is another step in the implementation of our business plan, and joins the acceptance of the fourth aircraft this summer. The rapid pace of expansion is made possible thanks to the professional work of all the company's teams - flight attendants, pilots, ground personnel and staff - alongside the close cooperation with the Airports Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Transportation. All share the belief in the national need to strengthen aviation from the north."
Air Haifa's fleet is based entirely on modern ATR 72-600 aircraft, and is the youngest in Israel. The company offers flights to nearby destinations from Haifa – including Eilat, Larnaca and Athens – with an emphasis on a comfortable, safe and efficient flight experience. Flight tickets include the option of changing or canceling (in exchange for credit) up to 24 hours before departure.
Just dont call it a low cost airline becausr it is not anymore!!
So let's assume there will also be 8 planes from a single airline flying from Haifa to two destinations.
How does this promote it as an international airport that foreign companies will fly to? It doesn't.
Which leaves Haifa and the northern province cut off..
All the countries around us are busy building huge airports for tens of millions of tourists, and here we are excited about a fifth plane to Cyprus, and there is no construction of an international airport in the north on the horizon. Stuck…
Congratulations.
What are the destinations from Haifa?
Their planes are less than one flight of a large Boeing.
280 total vs. 300 in Boeing
Don't complain, don't fly, stay home.
Good luck!! When will there be more goals????
