(Hai Pa) – The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health warned this morning (Monday 12/5/25) of high air pollution that has been measured since the morning hours in large areas of the center and south of the country. According to forecasts, an improvement in air quality is expected during the afternoon hours.
The source of the pollution is a high concentration of fine respiratory particles, carried to our area as a result of the passage of a large depression that brings with it dust from southern regions, mainly from Egypt. According to the monitoring map of the Haifa Bay Area Association of Cities for Environmental Protection, in several areas of Haifa the air quality is moderate and in others the air quality is good. In light of the situation, the Ministry of Health recommends that sensitive populations, including those with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, the elderly, pregnant women, and children, avoid strenuous physical activity in open areas as much as possible. The general public is also advised to reduce physical activity outside the home until the dust has dispersed and environmental conditions have improved.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that it will continue to update the public based on forecast data and measurements taken at monitoring stations located throughout the country. You can stay updated in real time via the national air monitoring website or via the ministry's "Air in the Environment" app.
