(haipo) – On Monday, 12/5/25, between 08:00 and 12:00, a routine aviation emergency exercise was conducted at Haifa Airport, according to a statement from the Airports Authority.
Training of several security and rescue agencies
During the exercise, increased movement of vehicles and security forces is expected, including rescue vehicles, firefighters, and other emergency personnel - both on the ground and in the air.
The Airports Authority stated that this is a planned exercise as part of ongoing preparations for aviation emergencies, and that it is taking place in full coordination with all security and rescue agencies.

Training and improving readiness
The public is asked not to be alarmed by the unusual takeoffs - the entire activity is a simulation only, for training purposes and to improve the preparedness of the entities operating at the airport.

The police said:
On Monday (12/5/25), between 06:00 and 12:00, a large-scale inter-organizational emergency exercise is taking place in the coastal district of the Israel Police, at the Haifa airport. The exercise will involve police forces, fire departments, MDA, the IDF, the Airports Authority, the Haifa Municipality and the RLBAT. During the exercise, there will be heavy traffic of security forces, emergency vehicles, helicopters and drones, but no roadblocks are expected. The public is asked to maintain a normal routine.
