(Hai Pa) – A combined enforcement activity was conducted in Kiryat Ata against influential businesses in the sector – serious sanitary deficiencies and criminal proceedings are expected against the business owners.
The police told Hai Pa News Corporation:
As part of an initiated and integrated enforcement activity conducted in Kiryat Ata, led by the Zevulun Station (security and licensing), and in cooperation with municipal policing, the Border Guard Tactical Division, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Labor, inspections were carried out at a number of businesses that affect the lives of residents in the area.
The main findings:
In the grocery store and supermarket: Inspections found expired food products, some without an expiration date, as well as poor storage of food products - including storing eggs at a temperature of 23 degrees, contrary to Ministry of Health guidelines (which prohibit storage above 20 degrees).
It also emerged that there is a lack of separation between food products that are fit for consumption and those that are not, which creates a real danger to public health. In addition, sanitation deficiencies were identified such as dampness, accumulated dirt, outdated infrastructure, and lack of adherence to cleaning rules.
In a fast food business: Approximately 80 kg of frozen meat was found that was frozen in complete violation of Ministry of Health regulations and without proper storage conditions - which could lead to the development of dangerous bacteria.
The meat was destroyed on the spot by a business representative, in the presence of enforcement officials. Poor sanitary conditions were also found at the site – a dirty floor, a lack of cleaning supplies, and kitchen management without strict adherence to food safety rules.
The owner of the premises was instructed to complete the required licensing process, and in addition, a parking ticket was issued for a violation observed at the location.
In several businesses: The Ministry of Labor and Economy has opened an investigation following significant price gouging of regulated products – up to 24% above the permitted price. Criminal proceedings will be taken against the business owners, and they are expected to face high fines of up to 226,000 NIS each.
The Zebulon Station, together with enforcement authorities, will continue to act decisively to protect public health, safety, and protect consumer rights.

Why aren't the names of these criminal businesses published, and why aren't their business licenses revoked and closed down, forever?!
Are the names of these stores a secret? What's the concern? That I might avoid shopping at a store that stocks spoiled food?
Names, names.. What's the point without publishing the names of the perpetrators so they understand that in addition to the fine, customers are also losing out..?????
Why aren't the names of the businesses published so that we, the consumers, know?
The article itself about enforcement, food destruction, and taking procedures is fine, but without completing the details that are important to consumers, such as business details, what good was the article to the consumer???
It's good that action is being taken against businesses that endanger public health.
However, it is not clear why such criminal businesses remain anonymous. Fairness requires informing the public which businesses and which goods are involved. First, because some of these scams may have already been sold and it is important to warn buyers not to consume them; second, because the public has the right to know which businesses have been run in a way that endangers their health!!!
Come on, they'll each receive a fine of 226,000.
That's a bigger punishment than closing their business.
Finally doing something good for the citizens.
It's time for me to open a clean grocery store professionally and help the consumer be satisfied with both supervised prices and reasonable prices where there is no supervision. This is when pigs are allowed to steal citizens. The citizens are not to blame for the state collecting high taxes.
Revenge should not be the burden of the ordinary citizen.
Anyone who doesn't know how to profit from the grocery store honestly shouldn't open such a business.
Great, they won't stop monitoring and will move to other neighborhoods as well.
Who buys there?
The buyers are mostly like this
That the money is not enough to cover their needs in their pockets
Why aren't the names of the businesses published?
