(haipo) – We are gradually moving forward, on several levels, towards ending the activity of the petrochemical industry in Haifa Bay. The National Planning and Building Council has approved the advancement of an examination of alternatives for establishing a distillery facility outside Haifa Bay.
Announcement from the National Planning and Building Council:
The National Planning and Building Council approved today (Tuesday) the recommendation of the National Planning and Building Council - the Subcommittee on Fundamental Planning Issues, to move forward with preparing an environmental impact assessment regarding three possible alternatives for establishing a storage facility for fuel distillates: the Ein Ayla quarry, Rakepet Darom, and Jalma.
The decision was made as part of the procedures for implementing TAMA 75 for the development of Haifa Bay and the planned evacuation of polluting petrochemical industries from the bay. The planned facility is intended to allow the absorption and storage of up to 550 tons of imported distillates, as an alternative to the operations of the Bazan Group's refineries, which are scheduled to close.
Avihu Hahn, Chairman of the Haifa Bay Area Cities Association for Environmental Protection, Deputy and Acting Mayor of Haifa, welcomed the decision:
"This is an important step that sends a clear message to the factories that instead of fighting the evacuation, they must prepare for it. I intend to work in cooperation with the authorities near the alternative sites, in order to implement the most correct and appropriate solution - for the country, the region and the residents. The ZAWN is on its way out of Haifa Bay, and today we have taken a significant step forward on the way there."
Jelma ??? Ain Ayala ????
There is no limit to stupidity!!!!
Every statement and decision is conditional and without a true date.
Still on paper
Terrible mistake!!!
We must not trust any country to provide us with fuel for planes and tanks while they are trying to eliminate us….
What will happen the day they decide not to send us fuel, like they did when they stopped the bomb shipments from the great America that protects us? Have you thought about that?
We need energy independence!
Great idea!
Locations from the movies!
I also have an equally good idea - for the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, close to sources of crude oil and gas and recently vacated thanks to our Air Force!
Freed space will not be returned!
You're right, brother.
It is recommended to move to an industrial area of Tel Aviv, where the most users are.
Great, in another 300 years they will move the refineries from Haifa Bay, good news…
Well, everyone who lives in the Kiryat Haim knows that the tanks in Kiryat Haim are more dangerous than Bazn. A high percentage of people in entire blocks have passed to the next world from cancer. Secondly, during a war, Bazn reduces the amount of fuel in its territories so that there will be no danger to the public, while in the tanks they will have to add fuel during a war, which makes us a ticking bomb. The third factor is that we do not have independent energy. This means that they can cut off our supply because of anti-Israeli elements. Refineries have significantly lowered the level of emissions. It is a place of work for stability, not only for Bazn workers, but also for contractors in external circles. Tens of thousands of workers in all advanced countries. The production of fuels in the region is a population only in third world countries. They depend on others. In short, all possible mistakes.
Tzach is right in every word. It's nonsense and a mistake to even think about closing an energy place like Bazan. The percentage of emissions has dropped significantly.
We all understood the mistake of the decision-makers in closing weapons and ammunition factories and, when the time came, ordering from the US...complete nonsense.
Question..the ships that bring and will bring all the raw materials..the distillates to the port of Haifa for unloading, don't they pollute and emit many times more??? Has anyone even thought about and taken this into account??
I have a feeling that something wants to cut a coupon... kind of... but really, the State of Israel, unfortunately, is no longer independent but dependent... days or years... will tell
