(live here) – An incident of vandalism occurred last weekend at the Marc Chagall Artists' House on Zionist Boulevard in Haifa. Zehava Ziv Amzalag, chairwoman of the Haifa Painters and Sculptors Association, says that when they arrived to open the place on Friday morning, they were surprised to discover that the entire front door was smeared with brown paint.
The Chagall Artists' House was established in 1954 at the initiative of the Israel Painters and Sculptors Association - Haifa and the North Branch, and in collaboration with a public committee that included the Haifa Workers' Council, the Haifa Municipality, the "Workers' Housing" company, and other bodies. In 2014, the place underwent a significant facelift, during which the building's interior and exterior facades were renovated, with the aim of preserving its status as an important cultural institution in the heart of the city.
"It was a real market," says Ziv Amzallag in a conversation with Haifa. "The entire door was smeared with brown paint, really maliciously. This is a serious act of vandalism. Unfortunately, lately the situation in the area has been very worrying. There is a lot of noise, a lot of vandalism, and the feeling is of insecurity. There is almost no presence of enforcement, and the demonstrations that often take place near the place only increase the feeling of unrest."
According to her, the general atmosphere has changed: "It's no longer the calm and civilized place it once was. There's something strange and disturbing in the air."
The association has contacted the police in hopes of investigating the incident and preventing similar acts from happening again in the future. "We want the place to be quiet, safe and inviting for both artists and visitors," says Ziv Amzalag. "Our cultural space must not become a no-man's land."
He who sleeps with dogs wakes up with fleas.
The area where the Chagall House is located is not safe, to say the least. Especially towards evening. And even more so during times of tension and war. This is not new. Back in the 90s there was harassment and mild bullying. They are taking advantage of the fact that there is no guard at the entrance and anyone can enter and there is no one to stop anyone who wants to cause harm. Security needs to be increased, cameras, a guard at the entrance, registration of those entering.
The feelings of many residents are similar to those mentioned in the article and are very worrying. I long to see police officers on the streets or at least a police vehicle.
Zehava Ziv Amzalg, a brilliant multidisciplinary artist. You are a wonderful gift to the people and the State of Israel. Continue with your wonderful art that you received from your parents at birth, full of art, there is no one like you🇮🇱🙏🇮🇱🏆🇮🇱🌹🇮🇱👍🇮🇱👏🇮🇱
Well, who destroyed who? Let's guess? Where and by whom does the destruction come from? It's not hard to know and understand if you want to.

It's very puzzling to me! That there isn't enough "advertisement" about this "museum" in "beautiful Haifa"... and therefore, I don't even remember if I visited it...
And it's jarring to my ears to hear about "vandalism" in the museum...
As a "culture and art enthusiast", I hope to visit it at the next opportunity...!!!@@@ 😭
