(Hai Fa) - For several months now, residents of the Bat Galim neighborhood in Haifa have been dealing with a disturbing phenomenon. Every Sunday, the emptying of trash cans on the inner streets is significantly delayed until after 11:00 a.m. Until then, the cans that are dragged early in the morning to the sidewalks and sometimes even to the center of the road, remain in place for 4–5 hours, creating a real disruption to traffic and pedestrians.
"It's simply unacceptable," a neighborhood resident tells Live. "We get up in the morning to work, the kids go to school, and the bins block the passage. It's both dangerous and inappropriate. Why isn't the municipality addressing this?"
Despite repeated requests to the municipality and the mayor's office, nothing has been done to change the time of removal or to coordinate the time of removal of the bins with the arrival of the garbage truck. The worker in charge of removing the bins does his job in the early morning hours, but the gap between his work and the arrival of the removal team leaves the bins in the area for too long. Beyond the aesthetic hazard and safety risk, residents report that in some cases the bins block sidewalks, which makes it especially difficult for parents with strollers, the elderly, and the disabled.
"Simple coordination between the parties could have prevented all of this," adds another resident. "We expect an immediate response and a solution that will restore order to the neighborhood."
The Haifa Municipality responded: ""The issue was brought to the attention of the professionals in the Sanitation Division, and as a result, the instructions for workers in the field were sharpened."
In Kiryat Haim West, the bins and garbage are constantly on the sidewalk.
All my appeals to the municipality to change the situation were to no avail.
There is no management and enforcement of the location of trash cans, residents leaving trash on the street, and general cleaning.
This also happens on Shavei Zion Street in Ramat Hasharon. The bins are constantly standing on the sidewalk.
It's everywhere and in every city once a week. I wish we could come here every day, maybe twice a day.
Also in Keri. Life is not clean and polished. Remnants of dirt. The public is also no less guilty than the municipality because dog owners walk around with their dogs, they allow them to do their business in every corner without cleaning up after them. We walk around Bend, writing full of their business that was left behind, they did not clean up their dogs' business. When will the municipality start caring for the public? Start punishing dog owners who do not
Cleaning. We have entered the summer period. The days will be hot and the stench will be terrible. It is time to start taking action.
This is morbidity and viral diseases. People have become sick from this unbearable phenomenon.
In open areas, a person cannot cross every four steps. There are open bins and it is not appropriate for a person to cross. There are sands, rivers, viruses, expensive property taxes, everything here is garbage. There is no sanitary cleaning as required. There is no response to residents in most municipal services. Sad, disgusting and repulsive.
They are a million percent right. Every meter of walking we encounter garbage cans that emit a terrible, pungent odor. People are rude. Every meter there is a bin that blocks our access to both the crossing and the bus stops. This disturbs pedestrians. There are also full, dirty bins that emit a bad odor. And in the process, this leads to viruses and diseases that people can contract.
They will pick up garbage at 4 am, lazy people, Haifa Municipality
Then they complain about noise that disturbs sleep.
The phenomenon is also repeated in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood, where the bins are on the road next to parked cars or blocking the sidewalks.
Whoever placed the bins doesn't care about Haifa.
A quarter of the city's employees don't even live in the city. They don't care.
The lack of thinking characterizes too much of what this municipality does. Orange bins that need to be thrown away and create hazards. Anchoring bins on sidewalks and blocking pedestrians. Lack of enforcement in neighborhoods and destroying the quality of Haifa, and on and on. The city is in serious trouble.
The story repeats itself in the "Eshkol" neighborhood.
The bins on the sidewalks and on the road for hours!!!
There are no more retards than the entire Haifa municipality and every municipality in a third world country in Israel, period.
