(live here) –The Ruth Center in Haifa, which served for years as an extension of the Low Beck Community Center and stood desolate for a long period, is currently receiving new life. The Haifa Municipality has begun renovating the place and adapting it to establish a new and unique municipal center, which will provide a response to support and integration of students with special needs - from kindergarten age to the end of compulsory education age (3-21).
The "Hai Pa" system learned that the Low Beck Community Center, which previously operated in the Ruth Center, has closed, and that the building will house municipal offices. However, an inspection with municipal officials revealed that the building had been closed for several years, and is currently undergoing extensive renovation and adaptation to establish a municipal center for the support and integration of students with special needs between the ages of 3 and 21.
The new center will be operated by Matia - a regional local support center - and will be a professional and welcoming address for students with special needs, their parents and the teaching staff who accompany them in educational settings. The center will offer a range of professional support: early identification of needs, building personal plans and providing customized solutions - all under one roof. The building is currently undergoing architectural and pedagogical adaptation to the needs of the special population, and the municipality sees the project as another significant step in promoting accessibility, equality and inclusion in the municipal education system.

The Haifa Municipality informed Haifa: "The Haifa Municipality has not closed and is not closing community activity centers - quite the opposite is true. The building in question, "Beit Ruth," has been closed for several years, and is now undergoing renovation and adaptation for the purpose of establishing a new municipal center for supporting and integrating students with special needs aged 3-21. The center, which will be operated by Matia (Regional Local Support Center), will include professional guidance for students, their parents and teaching staff, identifying needs and providing tailored solutions."

Congratulations on the initiative!!!!!!!
But this is not a place suitable for people with special needs who are disabled!!!!!!!?
Don't you see that?????
All thanks to Naama Alupa, the principal of Matia Haifa. Who dreamed, initiated and achieved a home for special education in the city. To the students, their parents, the teaching and paraprofessional teams and of course to all the staff of Matia Haifa. There is no principal like her!! Thank you to her and of course thank you to the Haifa Municipality for picking up the gauntlet and encouraging the dream to take shape.
All thanks to our champion Naama!! Principal of Matia Haifa! She is unparalleled in her concern for special education children, their parents, the educational and paraprofessional teams, and of course the winning team of Matia under her leadership.
Finally something that will help children with difficulties integrate into the jungle of noisy and quite violent regular schools. Haifa did not nurture its children who need more than a screaming teacher in front of 40 children. Maybe there will be a sequel to this. Whoever came up with this idea is blessed. And it is certainly not the city's archaic mayor.
Currently, accessibility for the disabled is lacking!
What was it – he was experiencing it.
There were classes.
Closed suddenly.. not really news.
Suddenly a month... news.
Not many have heard of "Beit Ruth." I would love to hear background and history, and of course location in Haifa. Additional details are missing from the article.
