In preparation for "Remembrance Day for the Fallen of Israel's Armed Forces 29.4.2025" which will fall in the middle of next week, this year, on the eve of Remembrance Day (Tuesday, April 20, 00), an evening will be held that is all about commemoration and communion in memory of the hero of Israel, the late soldier, Sergeant Gal (Gabriel) Kobi, a Givati warrior who fell during his military service. This moving evening, which will begin after the siren at 2:12 PM, will be held at the Kobi family home on XNUMX B Tzadaf Street in Tirat Carmel. XNUMX years have passed since the fall of the late soldier Gal Kobi (Gabriel) and the pain is as excruciating as it was on the very day he died.

It will be an evening of remembrance and commemoration, poetry and painful sharing, taking place for the 12th consecutive year at the initiative of Shlomi Samocha, who this year, as is his custom, has written and produced the ceremony since the fall of the late Gal. This year, the centerpiece of the ceremony will be a special and moving musical performance featuring Rinat Gabay, Ziv Ben Simhon and Nir Abdo, all accompanied by the musical direction of Chen Harari. All the artists and crew – including lighting, sound and makeup – volunteered fully for the commemoration of Gal, out of deep love for the Kobi family and in memory of Gal, who was a beloved figure and respected by all his acquaintances.

Ahead of the event, Shlomi Samuka said with great excitement: "I promised then, and I promise now too - we will commemorate Gal in every way, at every moment. This is a love that has no expiration date. The pain this year is greater than ever, but so is the desire to embrace, remember and tell. Gal was not only a brave warrior, but also a friend, brother, son and a person who always saw the other. We continue on his path and commemorate his light. Later in the evening, members of the Kobi family, friends and educators who knew Gal closely will speak. After that, 15 carefully selected songs will be performed, songs that tell his story, his loves, and our longing. The general public is invited to take part in the ceremony, be moved, remember and embrace together."
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the day after Memorial Day (Wednesday, April 30.4.2025, 10), the Kobi family will visit his grave at 30:XNUMX a.m. at the Haifa Military Cemetery, and immediately afterward, a memorial service will be held at his home in Tirat Carmel.
Sergeant Gal (Gabriel) Kobi, late
Gal was born in Tirat Carmel, the eldest son of his parents, Samadi and Oved, and he has two brothers – Oral and Amit. Gal enlisted in the "Rotem" battalion of the Givati Brigade and gave it his all, where he also met his death. All his life, Gal wanted to be a combat soldier and serve in Givati. Even at his bar mitzvah, he seemed to foresee his death, when in the music video he made for the celebration, he was dressed as a soldier in "Givati" and a scene is staged that supposedly shows shooting in Hebron from television, while at the same time the family sits and worries. In the music video, Gal also does not answer the phones and shows no sign of life, but suddenly the door opens and he enters his house. The reality was different and Gal did not return. It should be noted that Gal's brother, Oral, enlisted in the same battalion in which Gal served, and was discharged about two years ago. Oral insisted on going through everything to immortalize his brother. Later, the parents had a daughter, named Gaya. The Kobi family established a memorial room for Gal in the house.
We would also like to add that the football team (adults) of M.S. Tirat Carmel, which currently plays in the top division of the Football Association's Second Division North B, is named after him, in commemoration and memory of the late fighter Gal Kobi.

The late soldier Gal Gabriel Kobi was killed in action in Hebron on the 22.9.2013th of Tishrei XNUMX (September XNUMX, XNUMX). Throughout that day, the third day of the Hol HaMoed Sukkot holiday, crowds of visitors came to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. The area was guarded by soldiers from the "Rotem" Battalion. At six in the evening, a terrorist fired a bullet from an ambush that hit Gal, who was standing guard at the pharmacy intersection, in the neck and critically wounded him. Gal was taken to "Shaarei Tzedek" Hospital in Jerusalem, but the doctors' efforts were of no avail and Gal passed away.
Who fell in an operational activity in Hebron exactly 12 years ago, on September 22.9.2013, XNUMX, from a sniper's shot to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It was on the holiday of Sukkot. Just minutes before he was shot, Gal asked his parents to leave the sukkah they had built, so that when he returned for the afterlife, he could host his friends in it. That sukkah has unfortunately become a mourning sukkah.
