(Hai Fa) – Residents of Carmel HaTsarfati in Haifa reported in the last hour (Friday 18/4/25 15:00) a loud noise heard on Ze’ev Jabotinsky Street, which according to eyewitnesses and sources on the ground, was a grenade explosion. Police forces, including saboteurs, were called to the scene, following additional reports of suspicion of the existence of another grenade and weapons in a residential building in the neighborhood.
Police confirmed that the incident is known and the details are being investigated.
A powerful explosion shook Ze'ev Jabotinsky Street in the French Carmel
Around 15:00 PM, residents in the Carmel HaTsrafati neighborhood reported a loud explosion, which was clearly heard on Ze'ev Jabotinsky Street. According to witnesses at the scene, the explosion was accompanied by a loud echo and caused panic among residents of the area.
“I thought it was a terrorist attack or a gas accident”, said one of the neighbors… “The windows were shaking, and everyone came out to see what was happening.”
Following the explosion, numerous police forces were called to the scene, including patrol teams, detectives, and saboteurs, who were deployed to the area and immediately began inspections.
The road is blocked off to traffic, resident testimony indicates suspicion of another grenade.
Neighbors' testimonies indicate that this may not have been a one-time incident. Some residents told Haifa that they had heard reports of another grenade hidden in one of the houses near the explosion scene. As a result, the saboteurs are now operating with extra caution and conducting thorough searches in the area.
“We live in fear,” said the neighborhood resident. “This is not a normal event. When you hear that there might be another grenade near you, you don’t feel safe even in your own home.”
Police sappers are currently scanning the scene to locate additional weapons and to collect evidence to investigate the incident.
Israel Police bomb squads, equipped with special equipment for detecting and neutralizing explosives, also arrived at the scene. The bomb squads are conducting precise scans of the street and nearby houses, searching for additional weapons, especially grenades that could endanger the lives of residents.
At this stage, no other grenade has been located, but security preparations are ongoing. Part of the street has been blocked off to traffic, and residents of one house have been asked to remain in their homes until the investigation is complete.
Residents demand security reinforcements in the neighborhood. The fear index is high, especially during a time of war.

This house was exactly two years ago, all the vehicles were set on fire there! This is because the police don't connect the dots and treat it as an isolated incident.
