(haipo) – Many fire crews from the Haifa station worked during the day (Friday, 18/4/25, 12:45) to contain a fire that broke out on a ship loaded with scrap metal in the Kishon Port. The fire is located at a depth of about four meters. The firefighters are using foam and the port crews are unloading cargo from the ship onto the dock, in order to allow the firefighters to reach the fire.
13:45 – Update from Fire and Rescue
Numerous fire and rescue forces from the Haifa station arrived at the scene and began combined operations with emergency teams and Haifa Port workers.
Following a situation assessment conducted by the incident commander, Lieutenant Commander Kfir Janah, the commander of the Coast Guard Command, Rav Reshef Ido Shia, the station's AGM officer, the shift commanders operating in the field, and port officials, it was decided that a crane would arrive to begin evacuating the ship's contents, alongside firefighting operations on the ground using foam.
At this time, after half of the ship's contents were evacuated, there was a lull in the amount of smoke as crews continued firefighting operations on the ground, along with removing the waste using a port crane.


12:23 – Fire and Rescue was delivered to the public.

At this moment, numerous fire crews from the Haifa station, under the command of the deputy commander of the Haifa station, Lieutenant Commander Kfir Janah, are working on a fire on a ship carrying scrap metal in the Kishon Port in Haifa.
The source of the fire is at the bottom of the ship at a depth of about 4 meters, and extinguishing operations may take a long time.
