(Live here) – A serious malfunction that occurred on Tuesday evening, 15/4/25, in the computer network of Hot Cinema caused the paralysis of cinema branches across the country, especially at the Grand Canyon in Haifa.
According to reports reaching “Hai Fe,” for about an hour it was not possible to purchase tickets at the box office or on the company’s website. At the Haifa Grand Mall, about 200 people stood in front of the box office – without the possibility of purchasing a movie ticket.
The malfunction apparently stemmed from a breakdown in the ticket ordering system. According to witnesses at the scene, “People offered to pay in cash, but that didn’t help either – the system didn’t function at all.” The chain’s employees, who were standing at the box office at the time, were forced to deal with disappointed and helpless customers.
The Grand Canyon management stated:
"In checking with Hot Cinema, there was indeed a system glitch, but it is currently being addressed. We are working to return to normal as quickly as possible."
Although the system is back up and running, the incident highlights the complete dependence of cinema chains on computer systems – and the immediate impact on the viewer experience in the event of a total technological failure.
The average age of those pictured is 65.
This is Haifa's main problem. You have driven the younger generations out of the city.
You have turned Haifa into a geriatric city that robs the young for millionaire retirees.
There is no Planet in the heart of the bay!!!
The sound is explosive, the seats are luxurious.
Only there!
The dawn of humanity
The Hot Cinema problem only highlights the decline in movie theaters in general. The lack of diversity is the real problem when the target audience is children. When the same movie is shown under the same roof in several nearby theaters, adults are not considered at all. If an interesting movie comes on, it's gone within a minute and a third. Don't cry about copyright and illegal downloads.
It is the lack of diversity and the number of children
We have to solve this.
In my opinion, the issue of purchasing movie tickets should be returned to the previous format at the box office and not at the buffet like now. At least on Tuesdays, weekends and holidays, and an alternative should be provided in case the communication via computers crashes. This is not the first time a similar malfunction has occurred.
This cinema has deteriorated in the last year.
Even if it's all about the box office and not taking care of the theaters.
I don't even feel like going to the movies anymore.
I recommend buying the day before at the machines located on the cinema floor, then there is no pressure on the systems.
There were also problems at Mobileland in the Haifa Mall today.
This glitch, as unpleasant as it is, is short, temporary, and probably a one-time occurrence.
The more serious problem (for reasons of cost-saving, or more accurately, just plain stinginess) is the cancellation of the cinema ticket offices, transferring them and integrating them into the buffet ticket offices, so that every squeamish person, who doesn't really know what he really wants, stands in line until he decides whether he wants popcorn or a popsicle.
On the subject of the queue, you are absolutely right. It is a shame that this is how you treat your loyal viewers.
Snout and not seal.
It happened to me yesterday. After a malfunction in the ticket vending machine, I stood in line at the cafeteria after dozens of kids buying popcorn, Coke, and popsicles.
Where is the police 👮
In the land of the dwarves there is a noise and commotion,.. huh
The army wears uniforms and goes to war.
And at the head of the battalion marches…..the commander!
And in his hand is a sharp pin….
The cinema at the Grand Canyon is not good, the quality of the screen is very poor, the colors are not sharp and the sound is bad, there is no proper air conditioning and the cinema needs urgent renovation. I prefer A. Haifa Mall or Lev Hamifratz.
We must fight the technical glitches
