What is a community garden?
"Community Garden" It is a community-neighborhood project in which residents cultivate an area in their neighborhood and turn it into a green, well-kept garden, available to residents.
The goal of the community garden is to connect residents of all ages and strengthen the bond between them. Activities in the garden take place on a personal and group level.
On one of my tours of Talpiot Market, after having breakfast at the NUNA Cafe at 21 Sirkin, I walked down Sirkin Street and went down the stairs towards Rabbi Marcus Street.
On either side of the stairs is a backyard of the surrounding buildings that is usually neglected, neglected, and dry.
I came across the phenomenon of an amazing volunteer project by the new Acropolis, located at 15 Sirkin Street in Haifa.

"The New Acropolis is a community and a home for people who dream of a better world, one that begins with a better person. People who are seeking and willing to make an effort within themselves to improve the world."
With the concept, the vision, and the dream, a group of volunteers was formed who encourage creativity and art as part of a way of life of personal and ethical development. In the project, they raise the value of culture and art to the agenda. They encourage a connection of sustainable neighbors of local residents and business owners, and these, under the guidance of community volunteers, work on cleaning and nurturing the garden, accompanied by music and musicians. The meetings in the garden will be held in a round of 3 more future activities planned in the community garden on the dates: May 16, June 6, and June 19.
The main event will take place, which will summarize the entire volunteer period and coincide with World Art Day, and will be accompanied by an art event and fanning and surprising performances in the renovated garden.
I was happy about the initiative and following the visit I also drew the atmosphere.

Yossi, your story about the community garden that comes with the painting from the field sheds a beautiful light on Israeli society, which despite all the evil still takes initiative and always does things for the common good. I love the painting with its lightness, I connect with the initiative, I see it before my eyes since a resident of Atlit (born in Haifa and former resident of Haifa) lives across from a stunning community garden and sees how much beauty there is in these connections and actions.
Stunning!!
A welcome initiative that benefits people, the environment and nature, may they multiply!!!
Lovely. Well done. A great volunteer project and the lovely painting gives off a sense of atmosphere. 💖
Well done, Yossi, for bringing the story of the community garden, the blessed project, and your charming, lively painting to the attention of the general public.
Congratulations to the New Acropolis for volunteering for the community.
Thank you everyone and have fun.
Happy Passover
In correct Hebrew, one should say and write gilim, not gilaiim.
Just like elephants, holes, sewers, baboons….
