In general, the Haifa and Western Galilee District inaugurated on Monday, 7/4/24, in a festive ceremony, the new Western Galilee Consultant Medical Center, which is located at the entrance to Kfar Yasif, on the main axis of the region. The opening of the center is a significant step in making advanced health services accessible to the residents of the Western Galilee, especially during the period of regional reconstruction. The center includes a wide array of medical services in many fields, as well as a community emergency room and an attached pharmacy that operate from 8:00 a.m. to 23:00 p.m., including weekends and holidays.
Dr. Liad Vardi, Managing Director of Asher Klalit, talks about the vision: "Opening the center now is a clear statement of intent. We are here for the community, out of a commitment to improving medical services for the residents of the area."
The launch event was attended by religious leaders and heads of local authorities, including Sheikh Mwafaq Tarif, the spiritual leader of the Druze community, Rabbi Moshe Pinto, head of the Kfar Yassif Village Council Issam Naim Shehadeh, deputies and heads of councils from nearby communities, Director of the Haifa and Western Galilee District in General Ronen Nudelman, members of the district administration, clinic staff and managers, and doctors from the entire region.
Dr. Mehdi Nassar, Director of the Western Galilee Medical Center, opened his greetings at the ceremony and introduced the center's medical and administrative staff, thanking them for their dedication to their work and the great patience they showed throughout the stages of construction. He said: "The center is a significant milestone in health services in the Western Galilee. It is an innovative center that provides a wide range of advanced services. We will continue to ensure quality, professionalism and excellent service, for the health safety of patients. The center will provide the best response even in acute situations, and will be a worthy substitute for going to the hospital emergency room."
The center includes a wide array of medical services in many fields, including women's, orthopedics, skin, eyes, ear-nose-throat, endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, and more. In addition, there is an X-ray center, a cast room, nursing services, a laboratory, a nutritionist, and office services and a pharmacy that is open until 23:00 PM - including weekends.
One of the unique and prominent services at the center is the new community emergency room, which provides emergency medical care in a variety of areas to residents close to their homes, thus eliminating the need to go to a hospital emergency room. The emergency room is open Sunday-Friday from 08:00 AM to 23:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 23:00 PM, and includes a trauma center, internal medicine, an infusion center, emergency pediatrics by specialist physicians in the evening, and on-site laboratory services.
Sheikh Mwafaq Tarif gave a blessing and said at the ceremony: "I am happy for the opportunity to congratulate the launch of the center, especially during a difficult and complex period. This is a clear statement that it is possible to create a different reality for medicine in the north. We see an exciting Israeli mosaic here, all religions and denominations come here. This is a symbol of the shared life and multiculturalism of
"The area."
The head of the Yassif Village Council, Issam Naim Shehadeh, added his blessing at the ceremony, saying: "I welcome the opening and thank everyone. The center will serve all the large villages in the area – this is an important step for the health of the residents." District Manager Ronen Nudelman concluded and thanked the participants and the well-wishers: "It is very exciting to see us all here. A ceremony that combines the placing of a mezuzah, the sheikh's blessings, and the diversity of the participants symbolizes the shared and multicultural spirit of the region. After many years of dreaming, this center has become a reality. It was built in a strategic location on the central axis of the Western Galilee, and provides professional and comprehensive medical care to residents of the kibbutzim, moshavim, and nearby Arab communities. The community emergency room, which operates daily until 23:00 PM, is the great news, with skilled teams, innovative equipment, and a specialist pediatrician every evening. Clalit is investing in infrastructure here that allows for a real alternative to a hospital emergency room. This is not just the opening of a center, it is a clear statement that the residents of the north have the right to receive advanced, available, and accessible health services close to home."
