Starting today, April 1, 2025, fares in the Carmel Tunnels will increase again – something that continues to anger residents of Haifa and the region. This increase is a continuation of the regular price increases, which, as is known, occur every quarter. In addition, we would like to remind you that in January of this year, another decree was added – the cancellation of discounts for subscribers, which makes using the tunnels even more expensive for those who travel through them regularly.
The Haifa Municipality also came out against the increase in travel prices, and even took actions to express this, including when they tried to delay traffic in the tunnels using cleaning vehicles as an act of protest, but in practice, prices continue to rise without considering the public's reactions.
The Carmel Tunnels do offer a fast and convenient transportation solution, but the ever-increasing costs are making many wonder if the convenience is really worth the price.

This is just an article to stir up anger, because come on, what's 3 years old?
This is the price increase.
Don't just cry wolf, wolf, because if there is a real increase in prices, they will no longer believe or care.
Regardless, there is no justification for a toll road.
The operating agreement contains a clause that states that if the financial reimbursement for the entrepreneurs' conviction is full, the Treasury will be entitled to a portion of the royalties.
Instead of the Haifa Municipality revealing the agreement and all the conduct of the Treasury, after all, it is a tax on the tunnel users, Yahav added. Voices of Klomnik instead of closing the entrances. It is also not clear why a price increase is required and no one is bothering to ask
Beautiful, God, how I miss you.
Only smart consumerism by companies in the economy and wise behavior by drivers who avoid driving through the tunnel will result in a dilution of revenues.
When the cash register is empty, it speeds up processes! No more than a week without cars will do the job.
The power is ours – the consumers!
We have the power to travel less if we don't hate not traveling in tunnels...smart and rational consumerism will bring an end to this fascist theft!
The tunnel management doesn't care how many people travel through the tunnel. Even if no one enters for a month, they will make a profit.
How? Within the framework of the agreement with the government, they have a safety net for a minimum amount they should receive.
So protests like "don't travel" won't help. If you don't pay at the entrance, you'll pay through taxes to the state.
Blocking the tunnels immediately is the order of the day.
To block, meaning to bring trucks with rocks and close
The problem is that today, without the tunnels, the infrastructure is collapsing. To get from north Haifa to south, there are several options: Horev, by sea, Sprinzak, or the lower city.
And once the tunnels stop functioning, all the roads can't handle the load...
I once checked with my son who was arriving at the same point on the Carmel Beach. I drove through the tunnel and my son on Independence Road in the lower city. He arrived in Ireland with a difference of 10 minutes, but obviously on a day off, I was absent from work in the afternoon, so it was twice as many as 20 minutes. So think twice if it's worth it. I'm trying to choose not to travel through the tunnels. If we all do this, it will cause the price to drop. In Europe, the price has long been low.
