But a heavy burden fell today (Sunday, March 30.3.2025, XNUMX) on the Druze village of Dalit al-Karmel on Mount Carmel with the news of the passing of veteran journalist and media figure Rafi Hasson. Rafi Hasson lived in the Druze village of Dalit al-Karmel for many years, and there is no resident of the village who did not know him.

For many years, Hasson has worked hard to create and maintain the beautiful and good ties between Israeli society and the Druze community. Most recently, a few days ago, Hasson hosted the mayor of Or Akiva, Simcha Yosifov, at his home in Dalit El Carmel. In the past, he hosted Nobel Prize winners Dan Shechtman and Ada Yonath at his home, as well as many senior figures in the State of Israel, including many politicians. Hasson was a member of a family that worked hard for many years for the development of the Druze village of Dalit El Carmel. For many years, Hasson was a media person and worked in the field of journalism. During his military service, Hasson served as the IDF Spokesperson and in the military newspaper at the time, "Bemahane."

Today, upon learning of Rafi Hasson's passing, his longtime friend and colleague, the director of the Municipal Holocaust Institute in Haifa, Momi Almog, said: "Sad and painful for all of us. Rafi was a unique and extraordinary figure in both Israeli and Druze society, and he made sure to emphasize the important values of being a person who loved people and championed the love of humanity. Rafi helped and assisted the Holocaust Institute and connected the institute with the "President's Residence" in Jerusalem, together with the Honorable Rabbi Aharon Finkelstein, director of "Beit Eibschitz" in Haifa. Rafi's spirit will continue to infect all parts of the nation with love. May the memory of Rafi Hasson be blessed!"

The Hasson family will sit in the Nasruddin family home between Monday and Tuesday between the hours of 20:00 PM and 16:00 PM, and on the other days at his parents' home in the Hasson family parking lot in the village of Dalit El Carmel. The team of the "Hai Fa Taghied Al-Karmel" website shares in the grief and heavy mourning of the Hasson family and expresses its sincere condolences, may his memory be blessed!
