"We saw a man about 60 years old trapped among the rocks, unconscious, after drowning. The fire department rescued him to us, but after medical examinations, unfortunately we had no choice but to declare him dead."

(haipo) – On Saturday night, 29/3/25, a helicopter from the IDF's 669th Rescue Unit was spotted hovering over the breakwater at Meridian Beach in Haifa. The maritime police ship is in the water.
It was learned that a search is underway for three missing people in the breakwater area. Later, information was received that soldiers from Unit 669 rescued a drowning man from the stormy sea in very serious condition, who was pronounced dead at the hospital. Soldiers from Unit 669 rescued one man by helicopter. The man was urgently evacuated to Rambam Hospital.
Rambam Hospital told the following:
