(haipo) – Urgent medical rescue in Nahal Safoni in the Carmel Reserve.
The Galilee-Carmel Pioneer Unit told me:
Israel Police volunteers from the "Galil Carmel" rescue unit recently rescued (Wednesday, 26/5/25, at noon) a 67-year-old hiker who was hiking in the Safon Stream in the Carmel Nature Reserve and who suffered from a rapid heartbeat and shortness of breath during the route.
Due to the medical urgency and the traveler's medical background, the unit's doctor decided to launch an Air Force helicopter with fighters from Unit 669.

A team of rescuers from the "Galil-Carmel" rescue unit, reinforced by an inspector from the Nature and Parks Authority, joined the injured man in the field and provided him with initial medical treatment. Soldiers from 669 joined the team and continued the medical treatment.
The traveler was later lifted via cable to a helicopter, and from there to Rambam Hospital for further tests and treatment.
