The Chief of Staff, Major General Eyal Zamir, visited the naval base in Haifa yesterday and met with the commander of the navy, Major General David Saar Salama, and other commanders.
The Chief of Staff emphasized the importance of building the naval arm as a long-term strategic arm with defensive and offensive capabilities.
From the Chief of Staff:
"We must thwart threats at sea and ensure strong defense, alongside utilizing the maritime medium to strengthen security and strike at our enemy in all relevant arenas."
