After Hapoel Haifa lost another league game to Nes Ziona, the Red Club announced (Sunday, 23/3/2025) the signing of a new player, guard Elijah Pemberton, who played last season for Hapoel Beer Sheva and averaged 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Pemberton began his professional career with Golden State's G League team, the Santa Cruz Warriors, with his peak season being in 2021/22, in which he averaged 11.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He also played this season for the German team Ludwigsburg.

Pemberton will join the team's training ahead of its important and intriguing league game, which will be played at the "Romma" Sports Hall in Haifa on Thursday, March 27, 3, a game that will start at 2025:20 PM, against the northern team Hapoel Afula. Currently, Hapoel Haifa is in 40th place in the "Winner Basket" league table, which is also last in the league.
Yuval Rossman, chairman of the Hapoel Haifa basketball club, said: "As long as there is a theoretical chance of staying in the league, we will do everything for it. Pemberton left a good impression when he played in Be'er Sheva and we are sure he can help us."
As mentioned, Hapoel Haifa lost at home to "Irony Nes Ziona" at the beginning of the week, 99:89. The Reds have only 2 wins in 21 games and are 5 wins away from where they currently are beyond the red line. Hapoel Haifa has 5 league games left and 6 more bottom-tier games, the team's chances of surviving the season seem extremely slim.
