A short time ago, the Haifa Fire Department's emergency rescue unit was dispatched to rescue a worker who fell into a pit at the Haifa Wastewater Treatment Plant (near Hashalag Street in Check Post).

The fighters, led by the deputy commander of the Haifa station, Lieutenant Commander Kfir Janah, and the commander of the district unit, Reshef Oren Zuckerman, built a lifting system on a crane, descended into the pit, where they harnessed the wounded man and rescued him using ropes to a safe place, where medical personnel were waiting, who determined his condition to be moderate and transferred him to the hospital for further treatment.
