The tradition continues: Last week, the annual Tirat Carmel scholarship award ceremony was held at Mindspace in the Shaar Carmel complex. As every year, this year, scholarships are being awarded to 116 male and female students, both male and female, residents of the city, in the amount of 10,000 NIS each, to help finance tuition fees. At this week's ceremony, half of the amount was awarded, in the first installment, with the second installment to be held later this year.
The scholarships are received thanks to the cooperation of the Lottery Scholarships with donations from private businesses, academia and the local authority budget. The project is led by Coral Mizrahi, the scholarship coordinator of the Zuzu Tirat Carmel youth unit. In exchange for the scholarships, the students work in the community in a variety of ways, including promoting and implementing initiatives for veteran residents, at-risk youth, reserve service members, those with special needs, and more.
Director of the Zuzu Youth Unit, Rinat Lapidot:
Tirat Carmel encourages young people to pursue higher education. Recently, following a needs mapping process we conducted, the field has received increased attention, and a local education forum was established for this purpose. I thank our partners for their generous contributions, which allow the city’s young men and women to study with peace of mind – Biosense Webster, Academic Gordon, the Jewish Agency, and MedOne, which, in addition to scholarships, also contributes to funding English courses in the city. It is recommended to follow us on social media to be updated on the opening date for scholarship registration for the next academic year. Congratulations to the winners and good luck!
