The police told Hai Pa News Corporation:

During the operation of the Northern District police, a private vehicle with fake license plates was stopped, and inside it were located two adult residents of the territories and 11 children, residents of the territories with a large amount of goods who were suspected of being on their way to work at the intersections. The Northern District police and Border Guard soldiers are working against the phenomenon of illegal residents in Israel and are carrying out combined activities together with other enforcement agencies to locate lawbreakers.

During an operation conducted on 22/03/25 on Highway 70 near the city of Tamra, the forces identified a passing vehicle whose license plates did not match the type of vehicle. Upon identifying the vehicle, the officers signaled it to stop and the vehicle accelerated its speed, attempted to flee, endangering road users and making dangerous detours until it reached an open area near Tamra.

After stopping the vehicle in the open area, the police arrested two adults who tried to escape and it turned out that they were two residents of the territories from the Hebron area without residence permits in Israel (23,27). In addition, during an inspection of the vehicle, the police located another 11 children who were residents of the territories without permits with a large amount of merchandise in bags that were suspected of being sold at intersections.

The driver and passenger, residents of the territories, were arrested and will be brought before the court today at the police's request to extend their detention, while the children were returned to the PA territories in coordination with the relevant welfare authorities.

The Israel Police is fighting any party that assists the arrival and stay of illegal immigrants in the territory of the State of Israel and will use all means at its disposal to bring lawbreakers to justice in order to maintain security and public order.
