(haipo) – On Monday, 24/3/25, a discussion will be held at the Haifa Local Planning and Building Committee regarding the approval of the massive construction plan for a hotel on the casino grounds in Bat Galim. The plan includes a significant expansion of the building in height and width and the provision of significant relief to developers in relation to the area of the original building.
Members of the headquarters fighting against the plan are preparing for a demonstration in front of the local committee and are inviting the public to take part in the demonstration.
Agenda for the meeting of the subcommittee of the Haifa Local Planning and Building Committee – for 24.3.25
Statement from the struggle headquarters ahead of the committee discussion:
The casino plan is coming to the table of the Planning and Building Committee - and this is our place to have an impact!
💪 Monday 24/3 | 16:00 | Bialik 3 | Show of force 💪
Yesterday, the proposal up for discussion was published:
On the positive side - we managed to maintain a public designation in the historic pool area 💪
But! Under the guise of compromise, it was decided:
• Adding another hotel building to the open area, contrary to previous statements by the municipality.
• Addition of floors to the hotel (7-story building!!!!).
• Lack of reference to public designations in the casino building itself.
On Monday, March 24.3th at 16:00 PM at 3 Bialik St., Haifa, we will come to remind the committee members, who are members of the City Council, who they are supposed to represent. It is important that we come with strength and in large numbers to convey the message that we are here to ensure that the public interest is reflected throughout the entire program area! 📣📣📣
What are we doing?
Those who are coming, mark your name here with an emoji, reserve your Monday afternoon, invite friends and family, and come and influence the future of our beach!
Too bad
The development of the city is very important and a handful of people are demonstrating bullying
Because they don't get what they think.
You leftists want to destroy everything good.
In this case, it's not a good thing, and those who rightly oppose the government corruption of 7 floors and an additional hundred percent construction fee for the developer are absolutely right, regardless of political side.
