The coach of the Hapoel Haifa basketball team, which is having such a bad season and is in last place in the Premier League, asked today (Thursday, 20/3/2025) to leave and end his role. The one who is expected to replace him will be his assistant Ilan Amar. It is known to everyone and it is no secret at all that Hapoel Haifa basketball is in the midst of a crisis, and has also lost 8 games in a row.
Pearl announced this to the players at the start of practice today at noon, after which assistant coach Ilan Amar took over the practice. Club leaders will meet with Amar later with the goal of having him continue coaching the team until the end of the season.
Roy Perel: "About 3 months ago, I took it upon myself to coach the team in order to try and improve its situation. Unfortunately, I was unable to bring about the desired change, and there are certainly quite a few extenuating circumstances. In light of the team's situation, I felt compelled to make the decision to ask the club management to end my role and thus fulfill my responsibility. I would like to thank the Hapoel Haifa management for accepting my request. I wish the team much success from the bottom of my heart."
