Donating life on all fours: The dogs of the Haifa Municipal Kennel participated in a special blood donation.
The Haifa Municipality Veterinary Service held a unique blood donation drive this week for dogs staying at the municipal kennel, with the aim of helping sick and injured dogs in need of life-saving blood donations.
During the event, the donor dogs received advanced treatment against external parasites free of charge, and in addition, their blood samples were sent to the most advanced blood laboratory in the country, where they will undergo in-depth analysis, including blood surfaces. These tests will allow for early detection of many diseases and recommendations for treatment tailored to each dog.

Additionally, dogs that donate at the kennel will be entitled to free blood and plasma donations if needed, and will be a priority in the event of a shortage of blood donations.
Dr. Adam Becker, Director of the Veterinary Service at the Haifa Municipality:
"The veterinary service will continue to work for the welfare of animals in the city and improve the veterinary services provided to them, out of a commitment to the health and well-being of all animals in Haifa, alongside the entire community."
Did the donor dogs consent to this donation?
