(haipo) – Gas leak from a home barbecue in a high-rise residential building in Haifa.
From Fire and Rescue it was delivered to Lai Pa:
Last night, in the late evening hours (Sunday, 16/3/25, 21:45 PM), firefighters from the Haifa station worked to locate and stop a gas leak in a ten-story building on HaGefen Street in Haifa.
The incident commander, Reshef Kobi Mashita, reported:
"As soon as the first team's report came in, I realized that the case was complex and I rushed to the scene.
"A heavy odor was felt on all floors of the building, with the smell being most pronounced on the lower floors and in the parking lot. We began to thoroughly search the building, and only on the last floor was a barbecue discovered in which the gas pipe had come loose, causing a serious leak," said Reshef Mashita.
"We quickly shut off the gas supply while ventilating the building until the danger passed," he concluded.
No one was injured in the incident and no damage was caused.
Fire and Rescue recommends periodic inspection of all gas systems. In the event of a leak, dial 102.
Scary! We all need to be aware of the issue and do a monthly checkup.
Prosecute the construction inspector and perhaps this will combat the negligence of contractors and developers.
I wonder if the Swedes who live on Hefen Street thanked the rescue and fire crews?
Congratulations to the firefighters for your work. May you be strong. Have a lovely day. Thank you.
Well done for the attention
