(haipo) – A short time ago (Thursday, 13/3/25, 21:30 PM) fire crews were dispatched to extinguish a burning palm tree on Galilee Street in Haifa, near a synagogue, putting the Purim holiday prayer at risk.
From Fire and Rescue it was delivered to Lai Pa:
A short time ago, fire crews and Haifa Station Deputy Commander Lieutenant Kfir Janah were dispatched to a report of a palm tree burning on HaGalil Street in Haifa, next to a synagogue.
The worshippers, who had gathered for the Purim holiday prayer, left before the forces arrived, but a lot of smoke entered the two-story synagogue. The fighters quickly took control of the fire while another team searched the synagogue, made sure that no one was trapped, and took care to release the smoke that had penetrated inside.

There were no injuries in the incident, but we remind you that vegetation adjacent to the structure poses a great risk. We call for thinning and removing vegetation around the structures, especially with the beginning of the fire season.
Well done to the firefighters. Happy Purim and a blessed and peaceful Shabbat.
Therefore, trees located near buildings must be cut down.
Some countries have detailed regulations regarding the amount of tree-free space that must be left around a building.
