(live here) – The court sentenced a lawyer from Mazter Krayot to 44 months in prison, who took advantage of his position and smuggled drugs to an inmate in Rimonim Prison during a counseling session.
The Magistrate's Court yesterday (Monday, 10/3/2) sentenced Attorney Paz Goldhorn, 44, from Kibbutz Afek, near Kiryat Shmona, to 45 months in prison after he was convicted of smuggling drugs to an inmate in Rimonim Prison.
Goldhorn used his position as a lawyer to hand inmate Yahya Sabitan, 20, packages of hashish during a counseling session. In addition, another package containing large quantities of hard drugs, including cocaine and MDMA, was found in Goldhorn's file.
This seriously undermines public confidence in the judicial system.
The court emphasized the seriousness of the act and stated in the sentence that "exploiting professional status for the purpose of committing criminal offenses is serious, especially when it involves a lawyer, as this severely harms public confidence in the legal system and the right of prisoners to fair representation." Along with Goldhorn, Sebitan was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
According to the indictment, filed by Attorney Dana Alon of the Central District Attorney's Office, Attorney Goldhorn arranged a meeting with Sebitan, even though he had never met him before. Before the visit, he strapped four packages of hashish weighing a total of 377 grams to his body. During the meeting, the two passed the drugs between them under the guise of reviewing legal documents. At the end of the visit, Attorney Goldhorn was caught in possession of another package of drugs, which contained cocaine, MDMA and other substances, not for personal consumption.
"They acted with exemplary coordination and disturbing composure"
The two were convicted of the offenses of transporting and introducing a prohibited object into a prison, along with other offenses under the Narcotics Ordinance. The verdict stated that "although the defendants did not know each other previously, they acted with exemplary coordination and disturbing composure."
In addition to the prison sentence, Goldhorn was sentenced to suspended imprisonment and a fine of 20 shekels. Prisoner Sebitan was also sentenced to suspended imprisonment and a fine. The court noted that acts of this nature could cause serious damage to the justice system and security in prisons, and that a severe punishment should be imposed in order to deter similar offenses in the future.
The state of Bejatia has gone off the rails, whoever doesn't want to see and understand should do it themselves.
Everyone is a criminal, there is no deterrence, prisoners in prison do whatever they want, they run the crime from within.
The courts are a revolving door, dealing with petty criminals and petty fish while crime runs rampant.
They persecute the little citizen for nonsense to the bitter end, and then on the other hand, companies owned by tycoons like KIL
It turns out that they don't pay royalties of hundreds of millions to the state and do nothing, there is no collection. Circus.
Simple = circus.
The lawyer is stupid, how can he even call himself an Arab? Really stupid.
Why wasn't his lawyer's license revoked?
He has violated public trust in the legal system and has grossly and blatantly violated the law!
It is clear that the license must be revoked permanently.
If this is not clear to anyone, then the country is truly lost.
I wonder how many lawyers passed drugs and phones to prisoners...so they caught one...
A kibbutznik lawyer. This is what left-wing lawyers look like.
And this is what an idiot commenter looks like
