A spectacular performance on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea
Today (Monday, 17/2/25) surfers in Kiryat Yam will hold a spectacular performance for the release of the hostages who have been held captive by Hamas for 500 days, and in memory of their friend, the late Ido Aviv, who was a beloved and admired surfer and surf instructor who was killed about a year ago in Gaza.
The friends of Sergeant Ido Aviv, the late, are calling for the return of the kidnapped and will hold a spectacular display today (Monday, 17/2/25) of 73 surfboards that will create the number 500. Each surfboard will carry a yellow balloon (as the color symbolizing the struggle).
Ido's mother, Ami Aviv: "Everyone must return home. We have lost hope. Idan will never return. The hope of the people of Israel is the kidnapped ones and we must bring them home. Everyone!"
Dasha Liuskevich, who was Ido's partner for the past 7 years and began surfing after he was killed, shared with pain mixed with hope: "Ido had a sentence that became a way of life and it was 'Give him a smile and everything will be fine.' The people of Israel must bring all the kidnapped people home. This is what Ido would have wanted."

Less than a year ago, Sergeant Idan Aviv fell in Gaza. "Ido the surfer, Ido the smiling one, Ido the revered guide – killed in Gaza," the mayor eulogized him last year.
Ido was the main instructor at the club, loved and admired by everyone.

Today (Monday, 17/2/25), the 500th day of the war, Ido's friends, along with the club's manager, Gil Horvitz, who was one of Israel's top surfers alongside medalist Gal Friedman, will hold a performance for the return of the kidnapped.

500 days
At 15:00 PM, the performance will begin, and at its peak, 73 surfboards carrying 73 balloons, the number of hostages remaining in Hamas captivity, will make up the number 500.

prayer
Chairman of the Gulf Authorities Cluster and Mayor of Kiryat Yam, David Even Tzur, who signed the letter from the heads of the economy and authorities along with most of the authorities: "All residents of the state and residents of Kiryat Yam are united around the desire to see everyone at home."
On the first day of school this year, members of the municipal youth council, together with the mayor, initiated the Letter in a Bottle initiative and threw a biodegradable bottle into the Mediterranean Sea containing a prayer for the return of all the abductees.
Congratulations to you, my friend Noga Karmi, for this feat. Good night.
