(haipo) – The old dog park on Chayal Street in the Bat Galim neighborhood, which was once a lively meeting place for dog owners and their dogs, has become a neglected place devoid of facilities. The residents, who previously enjoyed a neat and well-equipped place, express deep disappointment with the current situation and demand that the municipality take care of the park.

The park, which opened in 2014, was intended to serve as a safe space for dogs to play and run free, while creating a cohesive community of dog owners in the neighborhood. It previously included play equipment, a fountain, benches, and a facility for collecting poop bags, but today it is far from usable.
"The garden is completely empty, there is no play equipment, the sand and soil do not absorb water, and every rain creates huge puddles that make it unusable," the dog owners say. In addition, a lack of facilities for collecting feces and a lack of cleanliness have made the place smelly and dirty, to the point that many dog owners completely avoid going there.

"No budget"
Irit Bondtein, from the garden opening initiatives, shares: "I hadn't been to the garden for a while and when I returned, I was amazed by the situation. I heard from friends that the garden is neglected to such a degree that it's not even fun to let the dog do its business. This is not the vision we had when we opened it. We contacted the municipality, but were told that there was no budget for maintenance. We demand that the municipality return the facilities, take care of the condition of the ground, place collection bags and ensure regular cleaning. We deserve a well-kept and clean garden, like it was in the past. It is impossible for the place we were promised to turn into a neglected area that is unfit for use."
The residents intend to continue demanding that the municipality restore the garden to its previous condition. "Our dogs need a place to play, and we, the dog owners, want to preserve the community that has been created here," they say.
מThe Haifa Municipality responded: "The dog park on Hachail Street is maintained and cleaned daily. As part of this, the municipality regularly fills bags in the bag facility designated for collecting dog feces. Unfortunately, the bags are taken away in a short time, for no reason other than the purpose for which they were placed there. In the meantime, the municipality is preparing to upgrade the park. In the first phase, new shading will be installed in place of the old rescue that was dismantled by the municipality. In addition, all the benches will be renewed and sand will be filled in the necessary places. Later, the municipality will examine, within the framework of the work plan of the operational process and the budgetary limitations under which the municipality operates, the possibility of installing new play facilities for dogs."

Headlines of Israel are funny.
The dog park planners in Haifa need to be sent to a course in Ra'anana to learn how to plan dog parks. Ra'anana has 4 times fewer residents than Haifa, and 10 times more dog parks, and the property taxes in Ra'anana are much lower than in Haifa. We need to learn how to do this magic.
You don't have to put bags in. They will always be stolen. Because that's education. They should bring them from home.
There is a completely open and rundown store on Geula Street. The owners are penniless and helpless in the face of dog owners who come and shamelessly relieve themselves there. We ask that you stop this. See you!!!
As Bibi said, it bores him. It bores Yahav too. He never cares. If some entrepreneur/contractor doesn't profit from it. He only cares about which hill he will give to build a new and unnecessary neighborhood. He doesn't care that in Haifa every 2 people has an apartment. He wants everyone to have an apartment, including children up to the age of 18.
There is no budget❗❓Where are all the parking tickets you charge❓What's more, taking care of the garden doesn't even require a budget as high as a window costing 1.8 million shekels in a house in the kingdom of Sarah and Bibi❗🤔
Also in the Ziv neighborhood, the dog park on Givat Hashabshat is neglected and miserable.
That the municipality will put in there, you will return it.
to apostate
Every word, indeed the square of death!
The Haifa Municipality must declare a maintenance year. Take an entire year of employees from the offices to assign them to laborers and have all the budgets just go to renovating streets, sidewalks, gardens, decks, shade, cleaning wadis and renovating buildings. Painting fences, painting benches, cleaning gardens in public buildings and other hazards to treat. An entire year – just maintenance. Just from the wadis and stairs in the city, you can fill 100 garbage containers.
Great idea!
The entire budget is being stolen for the benefit of mercenaries, who shoot unfortunate wildlife near our homes.
A mayor who kills animals of one kind will never invest in animals of another kind. It doesn't interest him at all.
An investigation is needed to clarify suspicions of corruption in the Haifa municipality! Something there stinks to the sky.
Smadar I have a much better story that you can handle. The story starts with me and you can see it all over Haifa. If you are interested in hearing and writing an article, ask the editor-in-chief. She knows the story. My phone number is 0523653525. Call.
This reporter loves clean, fresh water. She doesn't like dirty water. Don't expect her to hear from empathetic residents who are suffering from this municipality.
Be thankful you have a dog park… There are so many neighborhoods in Haifa without a nearby dog park and no place to safely release dogs.
It sounds like there is an interest in surveying almost exclusively the residents of Bat Galim. Who lives in the Bat Galim system that there are so many articles about? What about the dog parks in other neighborhoods, will you check?!
There is no need for dog parks. We need to take care of the Square of Death on President Boulevard first.
Apparently the reporter lives there. She takes care of her own environment.
Report. Yours truly, Samar Odeh
